“We believe that a better dance industry requires a better world, and that all brands have an obligation to use their influence for good and help champion change where it is needed.”

The Next Steps project is an overarching initiative founded by Energetiks that is dedicated to fuelling change and funding causes that impact the dance community on a local and global scale. After years of seeking out initiatives that focused on the causes facing our community it became apparent that whilst the need for change exists in many aspects of our industry, the means to contribute to these causes is not always straightforward.

After sponsoring the Artists of Colour Initiative in 2020 we focused our efforts on developing an all-encompassing division to seek out the most relevant issues to our dance community and spearhead the means for supporting them. Next Steps officially launched in 2022, with the first iteration of the project supporting the Rekindling Youth Program and Community Workshops run by Bangarra Dance; helping to keep indigenous dance and culture alive and thriving.

This is just one of many causes we care deeply about; mental health, LGBTQIA+ and gender equality, body positivity, and greater diversity, representation and inclusivity throughout the dance world are all issues the Next Steps Project is committed to supporting.

If you have a suggestion or feedback for what the Next Steps Project can tackle next, please reach out to our team here: customerservice@energetiks.com.au, we are always grateful for input from our community.

Current Projects:

Energetiks Next Steps Charity Bags in collaboration with First Nations artists and Bangarra Dance.

These limited edition carry bags were made in collaboration with contemporary First Nations artist Kyralee Shields, a proud Darug and Darkinjung woman, and Clara Trindall, a proud descendant of the Burra Burra and Burragorang clan groups of the Gundungurra nation. 100% of the profits made from Energetiks Charity Bags will be donated to Bangarra’s Regional Workshops and Rekindling Youth Program.

The Rekindling Youth program funds dance residencies and creates invaluable cultural opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youths to connect, learn and share through traditional stories, song and dance. You can donate to the cause by purchasing a bag below or instore at any Energetiks location.
